Carver Climate Systems; Bespoke Spot Welding Installation
Carver Climate Systems approached us with a specialist enquiry, of a bespoke welding set up to enable them to spot weld, for their new product line of air curtains. The enquiry was passed on to our technical sales manager, Steve Irwin, who visited the Carver Climate site to review and assess the project requirements, to find the best solution.
The Enquiry
After developing a new product line, the Air Curtain, Carver Climate required a bespoke welding set up to enable them to spot weld cabinet chassis at depths of 600-800mm, without the need for specialist jigging. They needed the ability to build and sell the product range in the UK, as opposed to procuring from outside the UK, to enable them to save on shipping costs. A well designed solution was needed, in order to speed up production, to make the welding process run smooth. This therefore posed the challenge to find a unique solution, prioritising efficiency and reducing costs.
Our Solution
After assessing the situation and understanding the requirements, the installation of the solution began. This included a 35KVA spot welder, a bespoke gun made for Carver Climate Sytems, by Sureweld, with the option of 600mm & 800mm arms available as requested, installed by our experienced engineer Tom. The gun is suspending by a counterbalance and hung from a 125KG Jib crane that was supplied an installed on our behalf by Pelloby Cranes. The welding cell was modified and made larger with the new welding bay curtains and rails and as sliding curtain door way, which was supplied by us through Tusker Industrial Industrial Safety.
