308l & 316l stainless steel TIG welding rods are the most commonly purchased:

308l will weld 302, 303, 304 stainless steel, whilst 316l welds 316 material.

309l stainless TIG wire is used for welding mild steel to stainless or material of a similar compostion.

310 TIG wire is designed for welding high temprature stainless steels such as ASTM 310S.
